I finished the first two books. Both were outside the type I usually read and I enjoyed them both. I’m about a third of the way into book number 3.
We took a break later that evening for, you guessed it, gelato. We headed to Perchè no! and I had cioccolato al rum (chocotale with rum) and lampone (raspberry). The “gelato professore” behind the counter noticed Cinzia’s lovely hair, commented on it, and smiled. She liked that. She order crema d'oriente al sesamo (sesame) and zenzero (ginger), an unusual combination. They offered malaga (rum raisin) several days ago but it hadn’t returned to the rotation of 40 flavors. I suggested to Cinzia that since the professore liked her hair perhaps she could ask him to make a batch of malaga later in the week. She waved, gave him a big smile, and they started talking gelato. He said he’d make a batch for tomorrow. (Note: We just returned now and sure enough, he was waiting on her with a tub of malaga gelato.)
Cinzia is in the kitchen getting dinner ready. We have fresh tagliatelle pasta with salsa de noce (walnut sauce). Should be yummy. Gotta go!
