With no washer; 16 pieces of clothing, a few pair of undies, 3 pairs of socks and 2 shallow sinks equals 4 “loads” of laundry.
Soak a little in the soapy water… agitate by hand a bit for 3 or 4 minutes…let out soapy water…SQUEEZE, swish around in rinse water in other sink…let water out…SQUEEZE…fill first sink with rinse water… swish around for second rinse… SQUEEZE… fill sink again swish around for a third rinse (I’m sensitive to washing soap at home and I don’t know how gentle this stuff is)…SQUEEZE… Repeat 3 more times

We have been getting a lot of afternoon rain so I haven’t washed clothes in about 6 days. Last time I did laundry a sudden shower had me running to pull in the portable drying rack inside, still dripping a little since with no washer it means also no spin cycle and wringing only does so much.
After washing, the logistics of how to get the optimum drying configuration is like a game of Tetras. Thank goodness I learned last time I was here from Carmella I don’t have to waste using clothes pins on undies, you just run a broom handle through the legs and can use the precious pins for other garments.
One hour and 45 minutes later, everything is left to dry on a warm Italian afternoon.
